A big few days for the country and the RVC!
- Today is the one chance we have to “exercise our franchise”, so just a reminder that the polling stations are open until 10pm this evening.
- But, it’s not all about politics! Yesterday, when if ever there was a day for good news to be eclipsed, John Hutchinson’s research into hippos’ ability to become airborne went out at midday and within minutes was a headline story on the guardian website. John has been very busy speaking to worldwide TV, radio and print media.
- On Friday, Professor Fiona Tomley CBE will receive the prestigious Plowright Prize from RCVS Knowledge (RCVSK) in recognition of her key contributions to the field of animal infectious diseases. The prize fund of £100,000 will be used by Fiona to establish a mentoring network to support the next leaders in infectious disease and One Health research. Congratulations, Fiona!
