How to Apply (D100)
The application process for the BVetMed (D100) programme is outlined below. It is each applicant's responsibility to ensure they fully complete the application process, so make sure you read all the information provided carefully. General guidance on applying for veterinary medicine courses can also be found .
Please note that it is not possible to transfer to the BVetMed course from a degree programme partly completed at another university. Applications will not be considered from students currently on a degree programme unless they are in their final year and applying for graduate entry. No exemption is granted from any course component.
UCAS
All students, apart from students from US/Canadian colleges (see below) must apply for the BVetMed course via online. The course code for the programme is D100 and the institution code for the RVC is RVET R84. You may list a total of five courses on the UCAS application form, but only four can be for veterinary medicine programmes (D100, D101, D102 and D105).
Deadline: 15 October for 2025 entry. International students may find the information on the UCAS website helpful. Applications are welcome from applicants who wish to defer entry until after a gap year.
Please note: All UK interviews for this course will be held in December (US interviews to be held in November and Asian interviews to be held in January). Our interviews are held in person. If invited, it is often not possible to rearrange an interview for a different date, so applicants must ensure they are available for interview before applying and inform us by email of any specific days within this time period when they are unavailable.
Work experience: Applicant Supplementary Form
All applicants applying through UCAS must complete the Applicant Supplementary Form. The form will be available in our application portal and applicants will be given access to this, and notified of the need to complete the form, via email on receipt of their application. The form must be submitted independently of, and in addition to, the UCAS application and within five days of your application being received by the RVC. The ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ will not contact applicants reminding them to submit the form before the deadline given.
Repeat applications
In view of the large number and high quality of new candidates coming forward each year, we are normally unable to consider more than one repeat application. If you decide to reapply to the RVC, this will be treated as a new application and will be reviewed independently, without consideration of your first application. As a result, you will need to re-submit any supporting information, irrespective of whether it was previously provided or not. Applicants who re-sit their A Levels and re-apply are required to have achieved at least grades BBC including a grade B in Biology at first sit. Applicants re-sitting other qualifications should contact the Admissions Office for information about minimum grades required at first sit.
VMCAS
North American high school students may only apply to the five-year BVetMed programme (D100), the six-year BVetMed with intercalated year (D101) or the five-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science (D105) via as above.
Students from US/Canadian colleges wishing to apply for the five-year BVetMed programme (D100) must apply through the application system; deadline 16 September. After submission of the VMCAS application they will be emailed a link to the Supplementary Form, which must be completed and submitted within 5 days of receiving this email. VMCAS applicants will initially be considered for the four year programme unless they request otherwise, but may also be considered for the 5-year programme too.
Interviews for North American applicants will be held in November. Our interviews are held in person. Please ensure you have informed us of any dates you will be unavailable well in advance.
