RVC Bursary
RVC Bursary Schemes
As a Home/UK Undergraduate student, if your household income is below £35,000 per year you’ll be eligible for the RVC Bursary.
The Bursary is £1,000 per year and is paid directly to you in addition to the funding you are entitled to from student finance.
As this is a bursary, you will not need to pay this money back.
The Bursary is paid in two instalments during the academic year and students do not need to apply for the Bursary.
Students will automatically be assessed using the household income information they provide to student finance.
The ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ Bursary Scheme will be available to students for each year of undergraduate study including those studying on Accelerated or BVetMed as a second degree.
Students must be paying full tuition fees during the year of study to be eligible for the Bursary.
Please note: The amount of bursary you receive is dependent on the Bursary Scheme available for the specific academic year you started your studies at the RVC and is fixed from that time forward. It will remain at this particular scheme for subsequent years of your Undergraduate course.

- If a student would still like to be assessed for the RVC Bursary, they will need to make a paper application to Student Finance (downloadable from their regional funding body website) and include a cover letter explaining they do not want any Maintenance Loan but do need to be income assessed for the institutional bursary.
- The student should then be means tested in the normal way and will receive a letter from Student Finance advising they will be receiving ‘£0’ for Maintenance Loan. The student’s household income details will then be passed to the Student Finance and Records team for RVC Bursary assessment.
- Students must ensure they provide their bank details to Student Finance as the RVC Bursary is paid via the Student Loans Company payment portal.
