With a team of over 200 dedicated and professional staff, including 30 critical care nurses, the RVC offers the largest and most comprehensive small animal referral service in Europe.

Patients are treated at Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, near Potters Bar in Hertfordshire. We offer a helpful and responsive service for referring vets and pet owners, as well as outstanding opportunities for veterinary specialists-in-training.

Our multidisciplinary approach to patient care involves consultation across all specialities. Each clinical team is led by registered UK, EU or US specialist veterinary surgeons, supported by specialists-in-training. They discuss each case in detail with both the referring vet, pet owner and specialist nursing teams, which are supported by patient care assistants, to deliver exceptional care.

Our facilities

Our state-of-the-art small animal hospital has some of the best facilities in the world, allowing specialists to perform cutting-edge treatments to help pets. The Queen Mother Hospital for Animals is the largest veterinary facility in Europe and treats conditions from acute heart failure to advanced neuromuscular diseases, joint replacements to epilepsy.
