Library Services

The library at our Hawkshead Campus is well stocked with items relating mainly to clinical veterinary work and research. There is a  large collection of clinical and basic science textbooks and many current journals. The journal collection extends online through computers within the library to a large ejournal and ebook resource and also in print, historically dating back to the first ever edition of The Veterinary Record. The Library catalogue can be searched from the .

Access to these resources is free and openly available to all alumni of the RVC, and we would welcome all to visit. The library itself has a large open plan study area and isolated study rooms; there are photocopiers available for use. If you live locally and would like to use this for private study, you can book in as a visitor and come along.

Archives

The library archives are extensive as you can imagine from a college that is over 200 years old. We have many journals dating back further than online resources allow access to and also a collection of unique old textbooks. If you would like to reserve any book or journal please contact us, for old journals please allow at least one business day to retrieve them from the archives.

Bookshop

The ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ also runs a bookshop from the library office at Hawkshead which offers discounts on many Veterinary Science reference books. If you would like a quote please email bookshop@rvc.ac.uk. If you know the book you wish to order you can email the title (and, if known, the ISBN) and delivery address and it will be ordered for you. Most orders take approximately 7-10 working days to arrive. We will then invoice your Veterinary Practice for the cost or you can pay by credit card.

If you still need to order through the library using a grant code, please email full details to bookshop@rvc.ac.uk and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
